Title: Death receptor 6 ( DR6 ) antagonist antibody is neuroprotective in the mouse SOD1 G93A model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Year Published: 2013

Observation: DR6 is upregulated in ALS post mortem samples. Blocking DR6 promotes MN survival in vitro. 5D10 inhibits SOD1 astrocyte induced neurotoxicity. Blocking DR6 reduces Casp3 activation in MN in absence of growth factor

Comment: Blocking DR6 function might be a new approach to treat ALS
