Title: AAV4-mediated expression of IGF-1 and VEGF within cellular components of the ventricular system improves survival outcome in familial ALS mice.

Year Published: 2010

Observation: IGF-1 and VEGF 165 are neuroprotective of motor neurons in an in vitro model of ALS. Treatment with AAV4 IGF1 or AAV4 VEGF 165 prolongs survival and improves motor function in SOD1 mice, but combination doesn't lead to additive survival

Comment: Combination of IGF1 and VEGF treatment does not further extend lifespan
