Title: Angiogenin protects motoneurons against hypoxic injury

Observation: ANG is a hypoxia inducible factor in MNs. HIF-1alpha stabilization is sufficient and required for hypoxia induced ANG gene activation. ANG levels are not altered in MNs from SOD1 mice or ALS patients. Neuroprotective effect of ANG against hypoxic injury is lost in ALS associated mutants

Comment: ANG plays an important role in endogenous protective pathways of motoneurons exposed to hypoxia
